Not Prepared for NR509? Here’s How to Cheat the Examplify Midterm and Final Exam Safely

Exam Cheating
NR509

There are many ways to cheat the NR509 midterm or final and walk away with a passing grade. Some are riskier than others, while others are safe. Here are even more ways to cheat, what to do, what to avoid, and how to get through the NR509 exam without ever opening a textbook.

What You Are Up Against in NR509

NR509 is not a course where you can bluff your way through. The midterm hits in Week 4, the final in Week 8. Both of these are almost always proctored by Examplify with Monitor.

The software:

  • Locks down your screen.
  • Records every glance using your webcam.
  • Uses your PC microphone to pick up every sound.
  • Its AI flags anything that looks off.

A single low score usually sinks your entire course grade. You probably already know this. That is why you are searching for a way to cheat rather than walking in empty-handed.

The good news is that every proctoring system has weaknesses. The better news is that you do not need to find them yourself. You can borrow from the methods that most students use.

DIY Methods to Cheat on Your NR509 Exam

These are the methods students try every semester. Some work if you practice. Some will get you caught the first time you try them. They include:

1. Keyboard Hook Bypass

This method unlocks your keyboard shortcuts while LockDown Browser is running. You can Alt+Tab out of the exam, open notes, search Google, and switch back without the browser blocking you.

You need a tool like LockDownBypass or UndownUnlock. Both are free and easy to find. Here is the setup.

  • Download the bypass tool and extract it to a folder.
  • Close all unnecessary programs.
  • Run the bypass tool as Administrator. It will sit in your system tray.
  • Launch LockDown Browser and start your exam.
  • Use the hotkeys. Example: Ctrl + Shift + T to switch tabs.

You must still be careful. Respondus Monitor is recording your screen. If you Alt+Tab to a browser full of NR509 notes and the screen recording catches it, your instructor will see exactly what you pulled up. The AI also flags rapid application switching. This method is best used in quick bursts, not for leisurely scrolling through study guides.

Risk: Medium. The tool itself runs outside the LockDown process and is hard to detect. But the screen recording remains your enemy. Use this only if you have preloaded notes in a single window and can find answers fast.

2. Virtual Machine on a Separate PC

Respondus LockDown Browser cannot see your real desktop if you play your cards well. This involves running it inside a virtual machine on a different physical computer. Here is how:

  • Install Windows inside VMware or VirtualBox on a second laptop or desktop you will use to cheat on NR509 exams.
  • Install LockDown Browser inside that VM, and take the exam there.
  • Your host machine, the real operating system, should have all your notes and browsers open.
  • Sit in front of the VM screen while the webcam watches you.
  • Control your real desktop with a separate keyboard or a KVM switch.

The tricky part is hiding the VM from Respondus. Respondus checks for virtual machine indicators like specific registry keys, MAC addresses tied to VM vendors, and timing signatures.

You need to harden the VM by modifying configuration files, spoofing hardware IDs, and disabling VMware tools. This requires deep technical knowledge and constant updating as Respondus patches each workaround.

Risk: High if you are not tech-savvy. Respondus detects an unhardened VM instantly and blocks the exam. Even a hardened VM can fail on exam day if the software is updated overnight. You are betting your NR509 grade on a tech arms race.

3. Hardware Capture Card With a Second Laptop

This method keeps everything physical and off the exam computer. No software hacks needed.

You need two laptops.

  • Laptop A runs the exam with LockDown Browser.
  • Laptop B is your cheat machine. It has notes, Google, and ChatGPT.
  • Connect Laptop A’s HDMI output to a capture card.
  • Feed it into Laptop B’s USB port.
  • On Laptop B, open the capture card software.
  • You should see Laptop A’s screen as a live video feed.

Now you have these options.:

  • Place Laptop B off-camera and look up answers yourself while glancing between screens.
  • Have a helper sit in another room, watch the capture feed, and text you answers on a phone you keep hidden.
  • The helper could also control Laptop A using a wireless mouse and keyboard while you sit passively.

The strength of this method is that no cheat software ever touches the exam computer. LockDown Browser sees a normal session. The screen recording shows you answering questions.

The weakness is cost and setup. Capture cards are not free. You need two functioning laptops. Cable management must be perfect because a stray HDMI cable in the webcam view blows your cover. And if you are working alone, managing two laptops while staying natural on camera is genuinely hard.

Cheat on NR509 exam

Risk: Low to medium. Detection risk is low because nothing digital happens on the exam machine. Human error risk is high. One wrong glance, one cable in frame, and you are done.

4. The Room Scan Exploit

Before every Respondus Monitor exam, you must pan your webcam around the room. This is your moment to control the evidence.

During the scan, you show a clean workspace. After the scan, the camera settles on your face and stays there. Anything outside that fixed frame is now invisible. So you prepare by placing notes, a phone, a tablet, or a small second screen in the area the camera will never see once you are seated.

How to do it well.

  • Before the exam, map your camera’s field of view. Sit normally and see what the webcam captures. Everything outside that rectangle is your cheat zone.
  • Place your materials there. Tape notes to the desk surface just below the camera frame. Set a phone flat on the desk angled so you can read it with your eyes only, not your whole head.
  • During the room scan, lift the laptop and pan high enough that the camera never dips to see those spots. Move smoothly. Do not pause near the hidden items.
  • Once seated, use quick eye glances only. Do not tilt your head. Do not squint. The AI tracks gaze direction, so keep glances short and infrequent.

Risk: Medium. The AI watches eye movement. Repeated downward glances generate “face not detected” or “suspicious gaze” flags even if the camera sees nothing. Your instructor will review the footage and notice you staring at your desk. This method works best on exams where the sensitivity is set to Relaxed. You can sometimes find this out by asking your instructor beforehand.

5. The Dummy Device Cover

This method pairs with the room scan exploit to give you an explanation for off-screen glances.

Place a calculator, a blank notebook, or an old phone on the far side of your desk, well inside the camera view. This is your decoy. During the exam, glance at it occasionally, even when you are not using your real cheat device. If your instructor asks about your eye movement later, you say you were checking your calculator or scratching notes. The real phone or tablet stays hidden, and you only use it when necessary.

Risk: Lowers suspicion but does not eliminate it. The AI still flags the glances. The instructor can still zoom in on the recording and see that your eyes are not really reading the decoy. Use this as a layer on top of other methods, not as your only defense.

Why These Methods Still Risk Your NR509 Grade

Every DIY method above shares one problem. You are executing a cheat while being recorded, while AI watches, while your body is under exam stress. One mistake is all it takes.

If Respondus flags your session, the consequences hit hard. Many nursing programs treat cheating as an automatic course failure. An academic misconduct record follows you through the rest of your degree and beyond. You could lose your clinical placement, your scholarship, or your spot in the program.

NR509 is not the exam to gamble on. The stakes are too high for a setup you tested once in your bedroom the night before.
